West Midlands Orienteering Association
This is the web site of the Potteries Orienteering Club (POTOC). POTOC is part of the West Midlands Orienteering Association (WMOA) and is affiliated to the British Orienteering Federation (BOF). POTOC organises orienteering events in the area surrounding Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme in North Staffordshire, England; and also has some permanent orienteering courses.
Orienteering is an outdoor sport which involves running (or walking) from point to point using a map to choose the fastest route and a compass to help with the navigation.
The areas for which POTOC has orienteering maps include Apedale, Bathpool, Biddulph Grange, Birchenwood and Clanway, Brereton Heath, Brough Park and Fields, Chatterley Whitfield, Downs Banks, Festival Park, Hanley Forest Park, Kibblestone Scout Camp, Ladderedge Country Park, Leycett, Maer Hills, Milldale Scout Camp, Park Hall, The Roaches, Springpool and Barker's Rough, Swynnerton Old Park, Tittensor Chase, Trentham Park and Gardens, and Weston Heath and Bury Walls.
POTOC is now Clubmark accredited. There will be a presentation at the Brown Clee National Event on 8th June.
