The planning and organising of the event in the forest was mostly a pleasure. Some areas are very overgrown with brambles, I did try and give the runners on the Hard courses the possibility of trying their luck with the undergrowth or going longer along paths and tracks.
The new electronic Clear, Start, Controls, Finish and Down Load went without a hitch (thankyou JP). We do need some signs for some of these stations, as only Finish was marked. With having borrowed some extra metal stakes from WCH, it did make them a little more awkward to put out and collect. I think this was offset by the resulting uniform appearance, as required in the guidelines. It was great to be able to see people comparing split times at a POTOC local event.
A great big thank you to my wife Brenda and also to Jonathon Millward for helping me put out and collect. A thank you also to other POTOC members who helped set up or take down the start/ finish area.
It was good to see a couple of new people enjoying the experience, hope we see them and the more experienced competitors at future events.
Thank you to Standon Bowers OEC. who keep on supporting the club by allowing me to print maps when I request.
