Planners' Comments

The turnout was disappointing considering the improved weather over the weekend. POTOC numbers were particularly low, so a big thank you to all of those non-POTOC members who travelled to take part. We do hope that the incorrect positioning of control 11 did not spoil your day. It is evident from the split times at which point people were in search of it and one or two competitors were clearly inconvenienced more than others. Thank you to Geoff Hollins who did eventually find the elusive control at a smaller less distinctive pine tree some distance away!

Our e-control expert, John Pigott, has since established the reason for the times being recorded as almost two minutes quicker than they really were - the download box which is used to start the score event, was evidently not in sync with the other boxes. In view of the problem with control 11, we decided that it would have been unfair to deduct further penalties based on the true times. Any adjustment for this would have had no impact on the class winners.

Park Hall is an interesting and tricky area and those novices who took part should be congratulated and encouraged to come to future events.
