Using the newly installed permanent posts seemed to work very well and it was a good test for the courses. We were very lucky with the weather as the constant rain from the previous day had stopped and it was a nice morning.
It was good to see people from different schools taking part -- Westwood, St Edwards and Endon -- and we hope they will be keen to compete in our new Schools/Youth League starting in September.
Some notable things on the day included our first bike orienteering event with Richard Townshend completing course A on a unicycle, the re-appearance of former POTOC stalwart Q K Crow with the plastic crow which is part of the Club's logo and a youngster spotting a green snake.
Many thanks to all the POTOC helpers including Henry and Brenda Morgan on Registration and Instruction, Brenda Pigott on Start, and control collectors Jonathan and Geoff.
Over 50 people came to the event to take part or help (2 from as far as Bolton) and we hope to see you all at our next event at Biddulph Grange Country Park on Sunday August 19th.
