Thankyou all for turning out when it stopped raining; we had 33 entries, though more people were out on course. I think most of you enjoyed my courses, as the bracken had gone down a lot in a week. It is not easy to plan in a long thin area with steep sides bisected by a stream and with unwanted fences put up to keep in grazing cows.
Jonathan Millward and Henry Morgan saved my bacon by helping to put out controls early in the pouring rain. It did help that Henry and I put out all the metal stakes and some controls late on Friday.
Barbara Farr went out on course to help any children in trouble and collected all the course banners and punches at the end. Marian Denham kindly went round with Lucinda to coach her on the moderate. Special thanks to Julie Phelan from WCH. Who didn't have a run, but went to collect in a lot of controls at the end. Thanks also to all the other POTOC members who came early to help. My belief is "come and try it and enjoy the experience". So I hope to see you again at other events.
